Reverend Doctor Samuel Travis, Jr.
A Servant Leader Who Walks Humbly, Preaches Boldly, And Loves Deeply
Dr. Samuel Travis, Jr. was born on August 28, 1969, to his wonderful parents, Minister Samuel Travis, Sr. and the late Luviana Marshall Travis in the City of New Orleans, LA. Where they eventually moved to Kenner, LA. He is graduate of Bonnabel High School in Metairie, LA. He went on to attend Delgado Community College where he received his Associate’s Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology. Dr. Travis accepted his calling to preach and teach the word of God in the year of our Lord 1990 at the New Mount Bethel Baptist Church, Kenner, LA. under the direction of the late Reverend Robert Martin, Sr. It was during this time God start to focus Dr. Travis on Ministering to the Masses. Pastor Martin saw the leadership anointing on his life and placed him as the Youth Minister of the New Mount Bethel Baptist Church. Dr. Travis and his best friend, Bro. Author Jones,III worked side-by-side and developed one of the strongest Youth Ministries in Kenner, LA. They ministered to over two hundred children from all walks of life in the community weekly.
Dr. Travis saw God moving in his life and wanted to prepare himself for the future. He then went on to attended Union Baptist Theological Seminary and College where he received his Bachelor of Theology degree. It was in November of 1993 the Freemen Baptist Association ordained Dr. Travis as a Minister of the Gospel.
In 1994, he was called to be the Senior Pastor of the Greater Zionfield Family Worship Center in Westwego, LA. Where God has used him to move this Church from 16 members to over 600 plus members.
On August 30, 2014, Dr. Travis received his Doctor of Divinity Degree from Saint Thomas Christian University. Dr. Travis is married to the love of his life Lady Felicia E. Travis and to this union God has blessed them with two wonderful children, Falon and Nikolas.

Dr. Travis is affiliated with (AIM’s) the Association of Independent Ministers, under the leadership of Bishop I.V. Hilliard. The Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International under the direction of Bishop Joseph Walker, III, and the Inter-Faith Fellowship Assemblies under the direction of Bishop Jermaine R. Hampton, Sr. whereas on July 25, 2025, Dr. Travis was Consecrated to the office of Bishop where he services on the Executive Council of Churches.
Anybody that is around Dr. Samuel Travis will recognize that he has a tremendous passion for God’s word coupled with a love for God’s people. He has a contagious spirit of generosity that overflows throughout every facet of his ministry. His focus is to empower people from all walks of life with the life changing word of God. He is a gifted Teacher, Preacher, Christian Counselor, and Church Administrator. Three words describe Pastor Travis and his ministry Real, Relevant and Refreshing. To God be the Glory for the great things he is doing in this Man of God’s life.
